The Story of Happy Dogs

The owner and founder of Happy Dogs Training, Piper Novick began her dog training journey in 2009 when she discovered the sport of dog agility with her sheltie, Happy. (Pictured to the right)
 
Enjoying the challenges and teamwork required to excel in agility sparked Piper’s love for dog training. Happy went on to win a national title while Piper was still in her early teens, giving Piper the experience needed to take her overseas for international events with her next dog. For the next few years, Piper shadowed under trainers and worked other jobs, including pet sitting and dog walk, before taking on her own dog training clients. While gaining practical experience in the dog training industry, Piper advanced her education to provide her clients with comprehensive and evidence-based training programs. The culmination of these experiences led Piper to form Happy Dogs Training LLC in 2019.
 
Since then, countless wagging tails and smiling owners have helped us reach where we are today. The passion and enthusiasm for dog training that sparked Piper’s ambition still fuels her every day to help owners create a happy and healthy life for their dogs. This mission is shared by all trainers on the Happy Dogs’ staff who strive to help owners understand and communicate effectively with their dogs. Train dogs without force or fear is a core tenant of our training philosophy which ensures we provide a positive training experience for dogs and their owners. 
 
Today, Happy Dogs reaches hundreds of dogs and owners each week, with 9 employees on staff in North Carolina and a crazy calendar of classes, lessons, and activities. Happy Dogs is a women-led, small business determined to improve the lives of dogs and owners in a big way. In 2022 Happy Dogs explanded to open Happy Dogs Denver, CO.

Both me and my dog were inexperienced but Piper made it stress free, fun, and successful. Then when we got our new puppy Piper came to our house each week for 5 weeks of puppy training. I learned a lot about positive training and it worked. Even with a stubborn Lhasa Apso! Then I decided to continue training my Boston and took Piper's Canine Good Citizen class. 5 weeks of fun training and bonding with my dog as we went to stores, parks, and other places to practice. On week 6 we passed the CGC Test. The other instructor Karen was outstanding as well. Whether you want some basic obedience training, puppy training, or something a little more challenging like agility, Piper does it all. And with 100% positive methods. You won't be disappointed. Piper was our trainer at Happy Dogs. She worked with us and our very leash reactive 3 year old lab/aussie mix. During the 8 week timeframe of working together with Piper we saw our stressed and anxious dog become more relaxed, less anxious, happier, and she even lost 8lbs!
